Jason Keding has been a Boston, New York resident since 2009. Upon moving to Boston he was a stay at home father and quickly became active in the community. Jason volunteered as a coach for Boston Baseball and routinely volunteered his time at Boston Valley Elementary School for events and activities to support his daughter’s teachers.
Prior to public office, Jason was active with the Town of Boston Conservation Advisory Council and was the Chairman of the council before deciding to run for a seat on the Town Board.
Jason’s experience in the private sector along with his information technology and project management knowledge lend him insight to work together with Boston Residents and consultants. Jason had worked in both the Health Insurance field as well as Information Technology field prior to relocating to Boston.
In his free-time he enjoys local and international travel, camping with his family, showing his dogs across the state and Canada, and volunteering with two WNY dog clubs.
In Jasons first term as town Supervisor he has been awarded over $603,000 in multiple grants allowing the town to:
- (Replace and modernize the town hall elevator with ADA upgrades using CDBG funds. Installed new playground at Boston Park, Upgraded and modernized court room audio system and seating, upgraded town hall community room audio system for senior meetings, Boston Emergency Squad FEMA grant for Heart Monitors/Defibrillators, Received highest ever grant funding from ASI for the towns Summer Concert series, CDBG Funds for water line repairs in North Boston).
- Converted all street lights to LED fixtures saving taxpayers roughly 50% in energy costs
- Worked with Highway to begin cycling out old trucks and Parks equipment for newer equipment.
- Modernized the town website to meet ADA compliance guidelines.
- Worked towards the Town of Boston becoming a designated green energy community which upon designation will open up additional grant funding opportunities for the town.
- Established a community wide drainage plan and created a reserve account for funding initiatives.
- Partnered with Boys and Girls Club for town recreation and youth services
- Worked with Spectrum to expand services and increase services build out in the community
- Partnered with Erie County Sheriff for municipal pharmaceutical and syringe drop boxes at town hall
- Improvement on municipal water infrastructure such as repairs and replacement
- Work on initiatives identified and set in the municipal drainage plan
- Municipal energy assessments to convert town owned buildings and fixtures to LED lighting for additional cost savings
